The Receptive Expressive Auditory Development Skills Inventory for
Young Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children (READY) is an assessment
tool to evaluate foundational communication skills necessary to
develop spoken English. The primary objective is to
document communication skills of children ages birth to six who are
deaf or hard of hearing (or children with developmental delays) in
the areas of speechreading, listening, and speech production across
two levels: 1. Pre-readiness 2. Readiness. The READY is comprised of
four sections: background information, pre-readiness skills, readiness skills, and summary sheet.
